Tree of Light Ceremonies - 2016

The holiday season is a joyful time but it can also bring sadness and a swirl of conflicting emotions for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Each year, Hospice of Central Pennsylvania provides an opportunity for families whose loved ones have died to come together to remember and honor those who were special to them. The Tree of Light provides a visible display and reminder of the light our loved ones shared with us.

This year our Tree of Light Ceremonies will be held:

November 30th at Garfield Square, Fifth and Market Streets, Pottsville
December 5th at Swenson Plaza, Front & Walnut Streets, Harrisburg
December 8th at First Presbyterian Church on the Square, Carlisle

Each ceremony begins at 7:00 p.m. and will be followed by an indoor reception. We welcome everyone in the community, whether or not their loved one was cared for by Hospice of Central Pennsylvania.

Some of our attendees choose to memorialize their loved ones in a special way by making a donation to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania and illuminating a light on the Tree. Their loved one’s names are also listed in a Memorial Book which will be on display at each reception. Each light is available for a contribution of $25. Donations can be made online here or by calling (717) 732-1000. A donation is not required to attend the ceremonies or the receptions. We look forward to seeing you at one of these events.
