Community Resources
Hospice of Central PA’s vision is a community that embraces specialized care at the end of life with the same importance that is given at the beginning of life. To strengthen this vision in the central Pennsylvania community, HCP offers many free community programs and events:
- We Honor Veterans
- Education
- Inspiring Community Conversations: Advance Care Planning
We Honor Veterans
HCP is a Level Five partner in the We Honor Veterans program. We Honor Veterans is a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The program invites organizations like HCP to join a pioneering effort to focus on respectful inquiry, compassionate listening, and grateful acknowledgement. Unlike the other levels in the We Honor Veterans program, Level Five partners must reapply for this designation every year. HCP’s participation in We Honor Veterans is an important component of our programming – providing support to Veterans and their families. HCP also partners with local nursing homes and assisted living communities to provide Veteran recognition events.
