President and Chief Executive Officer
Gil Brown has over 30 years of experience in healthcare operations and management. Prior to joining Hospice of Central PA, Gil served for eight years, as the COO for Hospice by the Sea, Inc., a Florida-based not-for-profit provider of hospice, home health care, and palliative care services. His extensive career in healthcare includes corporate and regional positions with Aetna Health Plans, Director of Managed Care for the Queens Health Network of the New York City Health and Hospital Corporation and Director of Managed Care for Continuum Health Partners in New York City. Gil has a B.A. in psychology from Bloomsburg University and a M.S. in organizational behavior from the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business. Gil’s additional certifications include CHPCA (Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Administrator) and SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources).
David R Wenner, DO, FAAFP
Chief Medical Officer
Dave was born and raised in Harrisburg, PA. He is a graduate of Penn State University and completed medical school training in Philadelphia. Following medical school, he finished his family practice residency at Harrisburg Hospital, where he served as chief resident in his final year. Before joining Hospice of Central PA in 2011, Dave practiced Family Medicine for 24 years in Harrisburg. As Hospice of Central PA’s medical director, he is responsible for the organization’s medical oversight including patient care for both Hospice and Levos palliative care. His board certifications include Family Medicine, Long Term Care, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Dave serves on the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine’s External Awareness Committee. When not working, he enjoys spending his time with his family including his two children, Lauren and Keegan, and his grandkids, Aria, Teo and Trent.
Chief Development Officer
Beth Mihmet is the Chief Development Officer for Hospice of Central PA and works with both the marketing and fundraising teams at HCP. She studied English and Art at Colgate University and received her MBA from Temple University. Prior to joining HCP, Beth served as the Director of Development for the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and Executive Director for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Central Pennsylvania Chapter. She serves on the board of directors for Alder Health Services and Leadership Harrisburg Area. Beth lives in Mechanicsburg with her wife, Sarah Myers, and a very demanding cat named Cookie.
Melissa Ross, RN
Director of Quality and Clinical Operations
Melissa Ross is the Director of Quality and Clinical Operations for Hospice of Central PA. She is responsible for regulatory compliance and quality care at HCP. Melissa graduated from Harrisburg Area Community College in 2009 as a Registered Nurse. She worked in hospital environments until making the transition to hospice care in 2012 and joined HCP in 2014. Melissa is a Steering Committee member for the Quality Assessment/Performance Improvement Section of NHPCO’s National Council of Hospice and Palliative Professionals.
Michelle Campbell, RN
Director of Clinical Services
Michelle Campbell is the Director of Clinical Services for Hospice of Central PA and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Intake and Admissions Departments. Michelle graduated from Westmoreland County Community College in 2010 as a Registered Nurse. She started her nursing career in the UPMC system, working as a cardiac critical care nurse. When her family relocated to central Pennsylvania, Michelle launched into different fields of nursing, including utilization management and a clinical liaison role where she was able to build relationships with local hospital systems. Michelle has been married to Dennis, a minister, for 25 years. They have three grown children, Ben, Kimmy and foster daughter, Alicia, as well as a son-in-law, Jacob.
Director of Information Services
Andy Hauer is the Director of Information Services for HCP. His responsibilities include the design, implementation, management, and maintenance of all information technology at HCP as well as conversion of the agency’s data into actionable information and knowledge. He holds an MBA from Millersville University, and BA in International Relations from American University. Immediately after completion of his BA, Andy spent two years in Togo, West Africa with the Peace Corps as an Environmental Protection Extension Agent. Before joining HCP in 2011, Andy held various positions in international public health, market analysis, and hospice quality assessment and performance improvement. He is originally from New York’s Hudson Valley but has been a resident of Lancaster for the past ten years where he lives with his wife and son. Andy is known for his gruff yet endearing demeanor, and his can do attitude.
Director of Finance
Sharon was born and raised in Hegins, Pa. She is a graduate of Central Pennsylvania College and completed her bachelor’s degree in accounting at Elizabethtown College. Sharon has more than twenty years of experience in accounting. Before joining Hospice of Central PA, Sharon worked for the Rite Aid Corporation, Cumberland Valley School District and Mack Manufacturing. Sharon enjoys spending time outside with her son, Luke, and her horses.
Director of Human Resources
Stephen Duty is the Director of Human Resources for Hospice of Central PA. He is responsible for all aspects of human capital for HCP. Steve graduated from Albright College with BS in business management. Prior to joining HCP, Stephen served as Human Resources Manager for BeneCard PBF and BCF. He is a life long resident of Harrisburg. Stephen is known for his affinity for bow ties and bright socks.
