Maria Olender, DO
Dr. Olender originates from Odessa, Ukraine, arriving in the United States as a child, along with her family, in the 1990’s. She grew up in New Jersey and attended Franklin and Marshall College for her undergraduate studies. Medical school brought her back to New Jersey where she completed her training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Stratford. She went on to complete a Family Medicine residency at the Reading Hospital in Reading, Pennsylvania. After deciding to pursue further education in symptom management and end-of-life care, she completed a one-year fellowship at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. When she is not working, Dr. Olender enjoys spending time with her husband and baby daughter exploring the outdoors around the midstate.
Ann Bero, NP
Ann Bero, CRNP, FNP-BC, is a registered nurse practitioner who cares for hospice and palliative patients and their families. Her responsibilities include consultations for hospice and palliative patients, recertification visits for hospice patients and patient/family visits for medical needs and concerns. Ann graduated as an RN from Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio. As a registered nurse, she focused her early career working in the Critical Care and ER settings. She continued her education to pursue a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing from Penn State University and a Masters degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Widener University graduating in 1995. She is Board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Prior to joining HCP in 2016, she was a provider in Family Medicine at the Hershey Medical Center, caring for patients in both the outpatient and inpatient setting. In addition, she has been a provider with Cumberland Valley Endocrinology and Holy Spirit Endocrinology Center specializing in diabetes management. Ann is originally from Saint Mary’s, PA. She lives in Mechanicsburg with her husband Christopher and their children, Andrew and Caroline.
